Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)

At Day Dubia 518, we guarantee that all live feeder insects arrive alive and healthy when shipped under proper conditions.

Guarantee Conditions

Our Live Arrival Guarantee applies when:

  • The shipping address is correct.
  • The package is accepted or retrieved within 30 minutes of delivery.
  • The local temperature at the destination is between 40°F and 80°F.

During winter months, shipments must be held at the local post office for pickup to maintain the guarantee. Home delivery during winter voids the Live Arrival Guarantee unless the customer chooses to waive the guarantee.

Dead On Arrival (DOA) Claims

If there are any issues with your shipment:

  • Contact us within 30 minutes of the delivery timestamp
  • Include clear photographic evidence
  • Email: daydubia518@outlook.com

Claims submitted outside this window may not qualify for replacement or refund.

Shipping Policy

To ensure the health and survival of live insects:

  • Orders typically ship Monday through Thursday
  • This prevents insects from being delayed over weekends in transit
  • Standard delivery time: 2–3 business days

Live Shipping Fee

Live shipments require specialized packaging and temperature control.

Live insect shipping fee: $25

Extreme Weather Shipping

To protect your insects:

  • Winter: insulated boxes with 72-hour heat packs
  • Summer: cold packs used when needed
  • In extreme weather, we may require Hold for Pickup at your local post office.

Carrier delays caused by weather or logistics are outside of our control.

Black Soldier Fly Larvae — sometimes called Calci-Worms — are considered a reptile superfood.

  • Helps prevent Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) in reptiles
  • Supports strong eggshell production in chickens
  • Highly digestible feeder insect

BSFL are an excellent addition to any reptile or poultry feeding routine.

Care & Storage Guide

Dubia Roaches

  • Keep in a dark, well-ventilated container
  • Maintain room temperature
  • Feed small pieces of carrots or oranges

Mealworms & Superworms

  • Store in a tub with wheat bran or oats
  • Mealworms can be refrigerated to slow growth
  • Superworms should NOT be refrigerated

Black Soldier Fly Larvae

  • Store at room temperature
  • Can remain in the original container
  • Do not require feeding

Hornworms

  • Leave them in the cup upside down
  • Remove waste daily

Silkworms

  • Leave in the cup upside down
  • Remove waste daily

Waxworms

  • Store in wheat bran
  • Check daily for dead or pupating worms

Day Dubia 518 is based in the 518 area and offers local pickup by appointment.

Select Local Pickup at checkout and we will contact you to arrange a pickup time.
